Coke, Pepsi, and their brethren are seriously bad for you and I don’t think that any of their fans would argue the point.

That’s like thinking cigarette smokers have never known cigarettes were bad for you. I smoked and I and everyone I knew were under no illusions that it wasn’t bad for us. One perspective was: “Something was going to kill us, it might as well be something we enjoyed.”

It never occurred to me, I might enjoy being smoke free even more than I enjoyed smoking.

This information is for those seeking alternatives who do not like, water, coffee, tea, and other off the shelf choices as much as they like Coke, Pepsi, 7Up, Diet this, Diet that and other truly killer sodas.

The physical health of our society is probably exactly the opposite of the fortunes of Coke, Pepsi, and Clan.

Keep in mind that these mega-corporations do change in pursuit of profit. Look at all the bottled water they sell. Some of it’s tap water plus bottling and advertising.

Much of it is pretty good water. The sources make little difference if it is then filtered and ozinated. Some has minerals added to lower the alkalinity. They’re actually competing by promoting healthy features of the water.

Of course, the mega-corps can’t resist using words that don’t mean anything to provide the illusion without the reality of healthy design. Water isn’t always healthy water even if it claims to be right on the bottle.

These are some intriguing tastes that you can make instead of soft drinks that you know suck in the health category.

I would NOT follow their suggestion to use sugar; because, it’s not as bad as high fructose corn syrup.

That’s crazy. That’s like voting in an election. 2 bad choices are still 2 bad choices. Find 1 or more intelligent choices.

Test stevia, xylitol, coconut sweeteners and other sweeteners that won’t make your health deteriorate. Add a dash of healthy thinking and proceed.

Now find or crate one you like.

The homemade all natural soda recipes allow you to choose how much sugar to add; it also allows you to swap out questionable ingredients for natural ones. Plus, they’re really yummy.

Some of the following soda recipes are based on making a simple syrup to add to sparkling water, while others are single-serving recipes that you can mix on the spot.

They are conceived around the idea of employing a punch of flavor so that you don’t need to have the soda quite so sickeningly sweet as is typical in conventionally sweetened sodas using high fructose corn syrup.
